Purple Badge Parking Scheme

What is the Purple Badge Scheme?

A new parking scheme, called the European Blue Badge Scheme, gives national parking concessions for drivers and passengers with severe disabilities. These badges are issued to people with a physical disability, or those who are registered as blind, and who need to be able to park close to their destination.

Due to serious parking problems in London, the Secretary of State for Transport decided when the scheme was introduced that these concessions would not apply in certain London Boroughs, including this one.

The Purple Badge Scheme has been set up especially for disabled people living or working within the Borough.
