St Luke’s Park Gardens is to undergo improvements as part of the Council’s ten-year Parks Strategy. Over the last 12 months, council officers have taken the preferences and ideas from the first consultation and created an outline design. We are planning to provide:

  • The ornamental gardens planted by the Veitch nursery as they are the quiet part of the park. The northern side will be developed to provide more varied activity
  • The children’s play area is heavily used and will be improved, renovated and expanded with all new equipment and safety surfacing
  • The hard court area will be improved to include two astro-turf courts and improved fencing and lighting
  • A new amenities building with children’s and adult toilets, drinking fountain, disabled toilet and baby changing facilities
  • Access to the gardens and paths will be wheelchair friendly
  • Local residents will see the replacement of the pre-war railings around the park with similar to those at the front of the church
  • The unplanted areas at the back of the park which is currently overgrown will be left to create specific biodiversity areas

You can read the new consultation document and tell us what you think of the design by emailing us at environment@rbkc.gov.uk.
