2005 London in Bloom Awards

We picked up a number of awards during 2005 including:

Colourful flowers growing in one the borough's parks
  • overall winner in the city category of London in Bloom
  • a silver gilt from the London in Bloom judges
  • silver in the city category of Britain in Bloom and
  • highly commended by Britain in Bloom judges for excellent floral displays across the borough

The London in Bloom judges were particularly impressed with "the involvement of children and the community" in the borough's campaign. While the Britain in Bloom judges commented on the "very high standard of the floral displays, with much attention to detail, they were imaginative and had impact."

The theme of the 2005 campaign was 'Grow Your Own' and the Council worked with local residents and businesses, planting over 200,000 bedding plants.
