Services for substance misusers (drug and alcohol problems)

picture from the guide to mental health servicesThere is often a connection between mental health problems and substance use - this is sometimes called dual diagnosis. The connection may be because a person’s use of drugs or alcohol has caused them to have mental health problems, or because in order to cope with the symptoms of a mental health problem a person has used mind altering substances unwisely, for example to help take away difficult feelings. These pages will help direct you to the most accessible organisations where your problems can be assessed and you will be given more information.
