Swimming is one of the most popular indoor sport and recreation activities in the UK. It is an excellent way to improve general strength, stamina and cardiovascular fitness. Unlike many exercises that concentrate on specific body areas, swimming benefits the upper body, mid section and legs all at once. It also helps to relieve stress, it can help with weight loss and is suitable for everybody to enjoy.
The Centre has a 25 metre swimming pool and a separate teaching pool. There is a hoist at the shallow end to help people with disabilities access the pool. There is a spectator gallery surrounding the pool on the first floor. The pool water is maintained above 27 degrees C (80 degrees F).
Important information: Children aged eight years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult (16 year old +) at all times while in the centre.
