| Notes | Main lending, reference and local studies library for the borough. Lending department (adult, young adult and children) includes books, spoken word tapes and CDs, language courses, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and music - CDs and scores. There are extensive biography and folklore collections (some are reference items). Reference department includes all UK telephone directories, Open university collection, business information, genealogy collection, a European Information Point and a wide selection of periodicals. Local Studies department includes Chelsea material and all council information, past and present. Computers offering internet, scanner and word-processing facilities are available throughout the library. There are designated laptop use areas. Children's Library offers a full range of resources, including:
