Employers' liability compulsory insurance
Employers are responsible for the health and safety of their
employees while they are at work. So you will need this insurance
if you employ anyone. This differs from public liability insurance,
which is voluntary and covers you for claims made by members of the
public or other businesses. Employers' liability insurance covers
you for claims made by employees and you can be fined if you do not
hold a current employers' liability insurance policy.
Legislation
Statutory Instrument 1998 No. 2573 The Employers' Liability
(Compulsory Insurance) Regulations 1998.
