Shop Front Improvement Grants
The Council provides grants for shop front
improvements where they are likely to have a significant impact in
improving the overall appearance and performance of a retail
area. The Council currently provides grants for 95% of the
works, up to a maximum of £10,000, although a new shop front will
normally cost in the region of £20,000 in total.
These grants are not intended simply to
subsidise property owners and landlords who are undertaking routine
maintenance and improvement; they are targeted at conservation
areas and areas that are particularly run down.
