Same day certificate service
The Kensington and Chelsea Register Office offers a same day
service for priority and urgent applications for copies of birth,
death, marriage and civil partnership certificates. Once payment
for any certificates and this additional fee has been taken (either
by telephone or in person), the certificates will be available for
collection within 30 minutes, subject to the following
criteria:
The same day service is only available as follows: Monday to
Friday 9am – 3.30pm and Saturdays 9am - 3pm.
The fee for this enhanced service is payable at the time of
ordering and includes one copy of the certificate. If more than one
certificate from a single entry is required, there will be an
additional charge of £7.00/£10.00 per certificate. However if
multiple certificates are required from different registers, the
same day service fee will apply to each application
surrendered.

If you require more than one certificate from the same entry then
any additional certificates will be charged at £7.00 extra per

If you require more than one certificate from the same entry then

This enhanced service can be particularly useful if you are in
urgent need of a copy birth certificate for official purposes such
as a passport application or job interview. Further information is

This service is not applicable at the time of initial
registration of a birth, death, marriage, etc. as certificates will
be available directly from the Registrar at this time.
