The Council Leader

Councillor Sir Merrick Cockell is Leader of the Council and is responsible for developing its overall strategic and financial plans, appointing Cabinet Members and allocating portfolios, speaking up on matters of local concern, and leading on the Kensington and Chelsea Partnership. The Leader is elected every four years by the full Council.  Councillor Barbara Campbell is the Lead Member for the Leader.
