Posting their views
19 April 2011
A recent scrutiny consultation on post offices in the borough
was attended by over sixty residents who highlighted lengthy queues
and the lack of a collections office as their main issues of
concerns.
The meeting, organised by one of the Public Realm Scrutiny
Committee’s working groups, was also attended by representatives
from Post Office Ltd and Royal Mail. They gave helpful responses to
the concerns raised and offered to return in six months, after the
opening of the new Kensington High Street Post Office, to hear
feedback.
Members of the working group continue to meet Royal Mail and
Post Office representatives to discuss broader issues, including
the re-establishment of a post office at St Ann’s Villas and
sorting post on the pavements. To make the Working Group aware of a
local postal problem please contact Jerome Treherne.
