Before and after school care and holiday care
Out of school services are for school-age children to play and
learn and have fun in groups. They are usually based in or near
schools or in community and leisure centres. If children under
eight years old are cared for and the club operates for more than
two hours, the club must be registered by OFSTED and meet certain
regulations.
The Royal Borough delivers this type of provision through the
Play Service. This covers before/after school and holiday
clubs, run at play centres located across the borough
Other boroughs also offer similar Council run services and
also private providers run extended services.
