Play Centres

The Royal Borough’s play service runs breakfast, after school and school holiday play centres in schools across the borough for children between five to 13 years of age. Children must book their places in advance and all registration forms must be completed and signed by the parent/carer upon registration. There are other private services that also provide activities for children during out of school hours and holiday periods.

Summer half-term play centres (Wednesday 6 June to Friday 8 June 2012 and Queen's Diamond Jubilee)

The following play centres will open over the summer half-term and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The centres are across the borough and it doesn't exclude your children from attending any centre. Please note that there is a new fee structure in place.

All pre-registration times are 3.30pm to 6pm at the play centres, please see the table below for the pre-registration times at each centre.

Venture and Flashpoint Centre Play, Hornimans and Little Wormwood Scrubs Adventure Playground will be open.

Summer holiday play centres (Monday 23 July 2012 to Friday 24 August 2012)

The Kensington and Chelsea Play Service offers Ofsted regulated play/childcare with a fun play based programme at the following centres.   The play centres below offer places for children starting from 4 and a half years old to 13 years old.  The centres are staffed by qualified and experienced play workers.

Centres are open from 8am until 6pm, please see table below for individual opening dates.

Pre-registration times have not yet been confirmed, please check back to this page for later updates and to download the pre-registration form.

* There is an escort service from St Cuthbert and St Matthias to Park Walk leaving at 9.15am daily from Monday 23 July 2012 to Friday 10 August 2012.

Summer in the City

Summer in the city activities brochure will be available from mid June. The activity brochure will include activities in the Royal Borough, Westminster, and Hammersmith and Fulham.  Please check back to this website for the release of the brochure.  

Mayor for London Election Day - Thursday 3 May 2012

A number of schools and play centres in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea will be closed on this day. The play service will be offering a Play Centre programme at: Flashpoint Centre Play, Blantyre Street, Worlds End Estate, Chelsea, SW10 0DS from 9am to 6pm.

Normal play centre fees apply on this day. 

Please note that you will not need to pre-register for this day. Please arrive on the day to complete a registration form and pay the fees applicable.

Play Day (Friday 17 August 2012)

This year the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is hosting a family fun day for all children and families.  Come and enjoy sports, games, face painting, bike riding, the Play Village, a BBQ, funfair rides, arts, rock climbing, spider mountain,environmental projects and lots more!
