School Improvement Service (SIS)
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is committed to
providing high standards of education in all of its
schools. We aim to promote high and improving levels of
pupils' achievement and the development of self-improving
institutions.
The main focus of school improvement within the local authority
is the School Improvement Service. This service includes the Head
of Commissioning, School Standards; School Improvement Advisers and
Consultants; Continuing Professional Development, Governors’
Support and the Language Development Service.
The service aims to provide appropriate challenge and support to
each school in order to promote improvement.
These aims will be achieved by promoting:
- collaborative partnerships between schools to build upon and
disseminate the excellent and effective practice within the
borough’s schools
- rigorous self-evaluation and sustained improvement in all
schools
- critically reflective practice among leaders at all levels
- professional dialogue, learning and development for everyone in
the children’s workforce
- the highest quality of learning, teaching and assessment
