In-Year Admissions
Applications to all state maintained schools must be made to the
local authority where you live, regardless of where the schools are
located that you want to apply to. Individual schools will
not be able to accept applications from parents that
approach the school direct and will refer you to the local
authority in which you live to obtain an application form. This law
applies to all schools with the exception of private or independent
fee paying schools. There are a number of reasons why you may need
to apply for a school place in-Year (this means entry to school
other than starting school for primary or secondary school from the
start of reception or Year 7). You may have recently moved to the
Royal Borough, or within it, and the school your child currently
attends is too far from your new home; or you may have personal
reasons for wanting to change your child's schools. Whatever the
reason, you will need to apply to your home local authority or
council for a school place.
For Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea residents, you will
be able to obtain the application form from the Town Hall and some
schools, but you must return it to the School Admissions Team, at
the address below and not the school. You can now also apply
online:
It is strongly advised you read the relevant guide
below, before you submit an application.
