Primary school admissions (reception class)

The new primary school booklet is available from early September. The booklet contains detailed information on the procedure to apply and the criteria used for the community schools. It will also have the oversubscription criteria for the Voluntary Aided (Church) schools. As there are 26 primary schools in the Royal Borough the booklet only contains contact details and some other basic information. If you would like more detailed information about individual primary schools, each school will have their own prospectus which you can obtain from them direct.

In addition to the booklet, we have produced a

‘Hints and Tips’ leaflet, which provides you with important information you should read before you make your decision.

The primary application form is available at all primary schools and nurseries in the Royal Borough and from the Town Hall. You must only complete the form if your child is due to start Reception in the following academic year and must be returned to the School Admissions Section. You will also find supplementary registration forms if you want to apply for Church of England and Catholic Schools. These are completed in addition to the main primary application form and sent back to the respective school. These forms are made available at each school or you can download them below.

The closing date for applications is 22 January 2010.

This closing date is for children born between 1/9/2005 to 31/8/2006, which includes children due to start school in September 2010 and January 2011.

Remember you can make your primary application online if you prefer.

Amendment to booklet - Please note Middle Row and Bevington Primary School will be operating a single point of entry from September 2010 and not two points as indicated in the 'Starting School' booklet.
