List of state special schools and units used by the Royal Borough

If the Royal Borough decides to issue a Statement of Special Educational Needs we will ask you to tell us which state school you would prefer your child to attend.

Traditionally children living in the Royal Borough have often attended mainstream state schools in the neighbouring boroughs of Camden, Hammersmith & Fulham, Wandsworth and Westminster. You may express a preference for any mainstream state school.

The Royal Borough maintains one special school which admits pupils with statements of special educational needs. This is:

  • Parkwood Hall School - a weekly boarding school for boys and girls aged 8 - 19 with learning difficulties. A small number of places for children living locally to the school may be available.

Pupils with physical disabilities

The following mainstream primary schools have been adapted to be accessible to pupils with physical disabilities.

The Royal Borough also makes use of a range of day and residential state special schools and units including the following:

  • D= Day school
  • B = Boarding school
  • D&B = both day and boarding places offered
