Introducing the English School System

DVD in community languages

This new DVD provides an introduction to all phases of schooling in England. It has commentaries in four languages ? Arabic, English, Farsi and Somali ? and a silent track for colleagues to provide commentaries in other languages as required.

Its aim is to support children and young people enrolling in an English school for the first time and although it has been filmed in schools in Kensington and Chelsea, it provides a useful model for all schools with scripts provided in the different languages and other supplementary materials.

There are four sections in the DVD, with each one illustrating an aspect of school life to help students and parents know what to expect:
