Investment in any type of training will:
All businesses: Proper health and safety training will help to reduce accidents, minimise staff sickness and occupational illness, the risk of prosecutions, civil action and such like.
Food businesses: In addition to health and safety training, food hygiene training (when properly implemented and put into practice) will reduce customer complaints and food poisoning incidents and help to minimise food waste. It has the advantage that individuals will not have to leave their workplace. But the disadvantage of e-learning is the lack of interaction and exchange of ideas between candidates.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's Environmental Health Department is currently investigating computer based training in food hygiene and health and safety.
