Non-accredited Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene

Non-accredited food safety qualifications

Royal Society for the Promotion of Health offers the following two recognised non-accredited qualifications:

Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene

A one day course for:

  • the general public
  • food handlers in health and social care
  • child and education care
  • voluntary sector organisations
  • low risk food handlers

The course has similar contents to the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering and the former Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene but does not provide evidence of under-pinning knowledge for NVQs.

If in doubt attend a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering course.

Certificate in Food Hygiene Awareness

The Certificate in Food Hygiene Awareness is a basic half day qualification suitable for anybody wishing to have an awareness of food hygiene. Contents include the need for food hygiene, food poisoning bacteria and hygiene procedures.

Please note. The Royal Borough can run the above two courses for 8-15 people in your premises, subject to certain criteria’s. If you want to attend an open course run in one of the Council’s training venues then a waiting list will be maintained until there are sufficient numbers.
