CIEH Level 2 Award in Hygiene in Health and Social Care

What does it teach?

This course aims to teach candidates about the basic knowledge and understanding required to remove or reduce hygiene hazards and implement controls. It covers the basic principles of infection control and prevention of infectious disease.

How long does it last?

It lasts for one half day.

Important: You are required to attend this course for 100 per cent of the time.

Who should attend?

This qualification will benefit all employees and their managers in the health and social care sector who may have already received basic health and safety training, but would benefit from focused training in hygiene hazards and controls.

People providing care and/or cleaning in hospitals, care homes, schools, clients’/patients' own homes, etc.

It is suitable for the private and public sectors.

What languages is the course run in?

Predominantly in English.

Is there an assessment at the end of the course?

Yes, a 15 multiple-choice paper.
