Going Smokefree
The Council and NHS Kensington and Chelsea are working together
to reduce smoking in the Borough.
Smokefree homes
Take the Smokefree homes and cars challenge and protect
your family from tobacco smoke. For more information about
Kensington and Chelsea Smokefree Homes, including how to pledge to
make your home smokefree visit the Kensington and Chelsea Smokefree homes page.
Smokefree Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
One of the leading causes of fires in HMOs is smoking. A poster
has been developed for landlords to display in HMOs, which provides
information on the fire risks from smoking inside, as well as
information on the NHS Stop Smoking Service, for any tenants who
would like help and advice to stop smoking. For further information
about this, and to download the poster, visit the Smokefree Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
page.
Do you want to give up smoking?
Smoking is recognised to be the greatest single cause of
preventable illness and premature death in the United Kingdom,
killing around 106,000 people a year.
For further information about stopping smoking, visit NHS Smokefree
website.
