The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has built a
reputation for award winning quality and value-for-money services.
Councillors and officers are responsible for ensuring that
residents of the Royal Borough have the best services local
government can offer, at a price the community can afford. For this
reason, the majority of services carried out by the Waste
Management Division, such as refuse collection, street cleansing
and public convenience maintenance, are undertaken by private
contractors.
Services that are contracted out are controlled by a team of
officers who make sure the work is carefully monitored and
standards maintained. Our own in-house team carry out enforcement
duties and administer street trading throughout the Royal Borough.
The Division has been recognised nationally by the award of three
consecutive Charter Marks.
