Animal warden service

The Council's animal warden service can provide a wide range of information and advice for dog and other animal owners in the Royal Borough. They will also collect contained stray dogs.

Dog Control Order

The maximum number of dogs that one person can walk on designated public spaces is six.

Dog Watch

Dog Watch is a multi agency partnership involving the Council, Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Teams, the RSPCA, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, the TMO and various other Registered Social Landlords. The main aims of Dog Watch are to improve local intelligence on anti-social behaviour, dog fouling and dogs not under proper control and to provide support and advice to help promote responsible ownership. Dog Registration Scheme

We operate a free Dog Registration Scheme for our residents. The scheme provides additional peace of mind to dog owners and will speed up the return of your dog if it is lost and picked up by the Animal Warden. To register your dog please complete the following form:

If you have lost your dog or cat you can call the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home - Lost Dogs and Cats Line for assistance: 0901 477 8477. Open 8am - 8pm Monday to Sunday. Calls charged at 60p per minute from BT landlines. Other networks may vary.
