Change of vehicle (including temporarily)
Permanently
If you have changed your vehicle or number plate, you must not
alter your existing permit.
Fill in a resident
parking permit application form and
produce:
- your current permit and
- full driving licence and
- one proof of residency from the list on the application form
and
- one proof that you own or use the new vehicle, we accept
either:
- the new vehicle registration certificate (V5C) or
- the New Keepers Supplement (V5C/2) and your insurance document
or
- a sales invoice and insurance (from a garage or dealers)
Temporarily
We do not give permits to borrowed or shared vehicles except
when your vehicle is off the road because of an accident or major
repair, or if it has been stolen.
In these cases, we will give you a permit (valid for one month
only) for a temporary replacement vehicle that is not registered in
your name.
Fill in a
resident parking permit application
form and produce:
- your original permit (unless it has been
stolen) and
- full driving licence and
- one proof of residency from the list on the application form
and
- one of the following forms of proof :
- a letter from the garage or insurance company to confirm
the damage or major repair, the dates they will have your vehicle
and that you are using a courtesy vehicle or
- the vehicle registration certificate for the replacement
or borrowed vehicle, and a letter from the owner saying that you
will be the only person using that vehicle and how long you will be
using it.
You must display both the temporary permit and your normal
permit in the temporary vehicle.
