Enforcement Teams
The Council's Enforcement Services provide two teams who
deal with:
- refuse and litter offences (like bags of rubbish dumped on the
pavement)
- highway offences such as obstructions and items not permitted
on the highway (like builders putting materials in a parking bay
without a permit)
- illegal street trading and various offences that affect the
street scene
The Waste Management Enforcement Team
The Waste Management Enforcement team identify streets where
there is a litter, dog fouling or rubbish dumping problem,
investigate litter/dumping/dog fouling complaints and assess what
action is needed. Where evidence is found this may involve the
issue of Fixed Penalty Notices for a first offence or a prosecution
under The Environmental Protection Act for re-offenders.
The Highways Enforcement team
The Highways Enforcement team deal with all highway obstructions
(not parking offences) and offences
relating to other items on the highway. These
include:
- tree branches and vegetation overhanging the public
highway
- distributing leaflets
- illegal street trading
- mobile advertising
- ticket touts
- tables and chairs supervision outside cafés and
restaurants
If you have a problem or complaint relating to any of the above
please let our Enforcement teams know by calling Streetline on 020
7361 3001. Alternatively, you can email us at streetline@rbkc.gov.uk
