Adoption and fostering

Family Services work to help families to stay together. In
exceptional circumstances it may be in the best interests of a
child not to live with their family. This can be just for a few
days to give the family time to sort out their problems or for
longer periods.
Adoption
Adoption is a way of providing a permanent home in a new family
when it is not possible for children to live with their own
family.

Fostering
Fostering is about caring for children or young people in your
own home on a temporary basis whilst their own parents are unable
to look after them. This can be just for a few days to give the
family time to sort out their problems, or for longer periods of
time.
