Our commitment to you

The following commitment outlines how we will consult with our service users and involve them to help improve services. It also tells you how and when we will inform our service users about service developments, performance and spending.

It is aimed at families known long-term to the Children with Disabilities Social Work Team (CWDT), St Quintin and the Children’s Community Nursing service, including Kaleidoscope.

Our services work with these families on a long-term basis to support their daily needs and the needs of their child, so their input into how they are delivered is very important.

We are committed to the following actions:

  • the service will hold two consultation meetings a year
  • the service will produce a annual report which will provide information about expenditure, staffing, numbers seen and support services provided
  • the report will be distributed to families known to the Children with Disabilities Team, St Quintin, Full of Life, and on the Children with Disabilities register; the report will be reviewed at the annual consultation meeting
  • the Health Needs and Disabilities Service business plan will be drawn up in consultation with user groups, including Full of Life - this will be presented at the annual consultation meeting
  • parent carers and young people will be involved in all service development working groups
  • recommendations from the Full of Life AGM, and the Disability Youth Forum will be presented at the Health Needs and Disabilities Service Management meeting
  • parent carers and young people will be involved in the monitoring and renewal of contracts
  • parents will be invited to attend complex needs panel meetings where their care packages are agreed
  • when ending a period of contact, parent carers and young people will be given a satisfaction survey to complete
  • a minimum of two newsletters will be sent out to all Children with Disabilities Team and St Quintin Centre users, and those receiving other services who have opted in to receive the newsletter each year; those on email can receive the newsletter electronically
