The Haven - overnight break service
The Haven provides a short overnight break service that cares
for disabled children and young people in a safe, positive and
stimulating environment.
Who is the service for?
The service is for children from nine to 18 years old who have
complex learning and physical disabilities. It is particularly
aimed at children with higher level needs, disrupted sleep
patterns; children who share sleeping space with parents or
siblings; children whose families experience accommodation
problems; and children who need a social experience which is
difficult to gain through other services.
What does The Haven offer?
The Haven is based in a large, modern, single storey building
with spacious living and dining rooms, recreational open space,
sensory equipment, computer facilities and a large, enclosed
sensory garden. A range of specialist equipment is available to
cater for the needs of children and young people with
disabilities.
Accessing The Haven
The services at The Haven are offered as additional support
through the Children with Disabilities Team complex panel process.
