How we work with social housing providers
The Royal Borough has a long history of working with registered
providers (also known as housing associations or registered social
landlords) to provide social housing.
If you are looking for social housing, you need to apply to the
Council, you cannot apply directly to a housing association.
All social housing within the Royal Borough is covered by a
nominations agreement that we have with providers. This agreement
ensures we receive properties that become empty or are built. As
well as properties in Kensington and Chelsea, the agreement covers
some properties in other London boroughs and borough councils, such
as:

Barnet

Regulation of social housing providers
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) took responsibility for
the regulation of social housing providers in England on 1 April
2012.
It maintains a register of social housing providers and a
regulatory framework within which they must operate. This sets out
standards which providers must meet.
If you have a complaint, please contact your landlord directly.
The HCA will only get involved in very serious cases which have
caused, or are likely to cause, harm.
For further details see the HCA
website.
