Employment Initiatives
The Council is dedicated to tackling local unemployment and
promoting careers in local government. To this end we have several
initiatives which are advertised regularly at www.rbkc.gov.uk/jobs
Restart
Restart is a scheme for local residents aged 50-64, who are
unemployed. It provides paid work placements for up to one
year and is a great way to get vital experience on your CV.
Headstart
Headstart has been running successfully for several years and is
targeted at 17-24 year olds who live in Kensington and Chelsea and
neighbouring boroughs. It combines a one year paid work
placement with study towards an NVQ level 2.
Summer Internship
Kensington and Chelsea’s Summer Internship scheme has proved
very popular. It runs from July to September each year and provides
an ideal opportunity for high-calibre university students to gain
experience of local government work.
