Pay and benefits
Whether you are an experienced professional or just embarking on
your career, your pay range will be competitive and reviewed in the
light of your progress.
The salary range for social workers (from 1 April 2009) is
£27,945 - £35,055 (pro rata for part-time positions) and is
inclusive of Inner London weighting.
Approved social workers receive a supplement of £1,500 per
annum. In addition, from the day a social worker joins, they are
eligible for a zones 1 and 2 travel allowance.
Add to this opportunities for flexible working, a generous
benefits package, manageable caseloads, the support of a strong IT
network together with the stability of individually assigned desk
space, and you see the advantages of our approach.
Learning and Development
Throughout your time here you will be constantly learning. You
will be challenged by your work, encouraged to try new approaches
and supported to maximise your potential.
We will invest in providing the resources you need to develop
professionally, through a combination of informal on-the-job and
formal development programmes.
We make time and financial support available for social work
staff studying for Post Qualifying Awards at Specialist level, and
provide in-house programmes leading to the Consolidation and
Enabling Others Awards.
We also offer many focused learning opportunities including
accredited management development and leadership programmes, a
black and minority ethnic staff mentoring scheme, approved social
worker training and child and adult protection training.
We are active members of the regional Skills for Care and
Children’s Workforce Development Council networks and use these to
contribute to and access regional learning and development
initiatives and funding.
