You need to be employed by a Royal Borough school in order to
access this programme.You can enquire about completing the
GTP in the Royal Borough by contacting our
schools directly and including a copy of your

Many Royal Borough Schools work in partnership with London South Bank University
(LSBU)to provide high quality training, development and support
for GTPs. Colleagues can apply to the LSBU once a school
position has been secured. At the end of the year, successful
colleagues will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status.
LSBU is our Designated Recommended Body (DRB). The contact

Applying for experienced teacher
posts
For all teaching positions please use the jobs database search

Short term Supply limit extensions
Newly qualified teachers that have not completed induction can
undertake short term supply work for a limited period of 16 months
only. After this time teachers cannot undertake supply work in
maintained schools, non maintained special schools or maintained
nurseries
It is possible to request an extension from the Local
Authority’s Induction Coordinator which will allow qualified
teachers who are unable to secure a suitable supply post for
induction to continue working in the borough’s maintained school
for up to a maximum of 12 months.
If you would like to request a short term supply work extension
please email the induction administrator at teaching@rbkc.gov.uk with the
following information:
- full name
- DCSF number
- date of birth
- home address
- reason for not securing post suitable to complete
induction
- date you would like the extension to start
- endorsement from a headteacher of a Royal Borough of Kensington
and Chelsea school
A letter confirming that your extension has been granted will be
emailed and posted to you. The starting date for all extensions
begin from the first day after your short term supply limit ends
and will only apply to Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
schools. All data will be treated as confidential and will not be
used for any other purpose

Work Experience Placements
To apply for a work experience placement please contact the
schools directly - it is essential that if you have not recently
undertaken an enhanced CRB check that you do this beforehand. You
can find out more CRB checks at the Criminal Records Bureau
website
