Our values

Kensington and Chelsea has a tradition of providing excellent services to its local residents.

In recent years the Council has embarked upon an exciting transformation programme, known as Smartest Council, which will drive further improvements in services and value for money for our taxpayers. 

But we know that staff are our core asset: we rely on staff to deliver our high quality services, and we are determined to make sure we have the right culture in the Council to make this transformation happen.  That’s why we take our Council Values seriously.

Our Values were chosen by staff, and for staff.  They are:

It is our ambition that all employees of the Council feel appreciated for the work they do – and appreciate the perspectives of others.  The Royal Borough’s Council is one where we are energetic and collaborative across departments and partner organisations to achieve better outcomes. 

Our tradition of excellence means we can be positive about the challenges we face, and innovation is actively encouraged from all members of the organisation.

Above all, this is an organisation which champions public service as our core value, guiding principle and raison d’être. This is the culture we want our staff to be part of and to contribute to.
