Market Enterprise Launch Pad in search of Young
Entrepreneurs
The Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea Education Business Partnership is working in
partnership with the Prince's Trust to give young entrepreneurs
aged 16-24 an opportunity to develop and start up their own
business.
The Market Enterprise Launch Pad 2013 is here to
help young people’s dreams of being financially independent and
their own boss, into a reality. MELP's unique programme will help
them develop their business idea whilst enhancing their skills and
qualities needed to become a successful entrepreneur.
Utilising one of the Borough's major assets, the world famous
Portobello Road and Golborne Road Market, the project consist of
practical workshops, visits to businesses to learn from industry
professionals such as Cath Kidston, and the chance to be mentored
by successful entrepreneurs.
The project will start in February 2013 and
will last for three weeks. Participants are then given a business
mentor who will help them develop a business plan and support them
through to the next stage. The final stage of the MELP 2013 is a
chance to pitch to a panel of judges, who will decide on two
winners to receive:
£1,000 start up funds
6 months’ rent FREE market stall space
