Across the Street, Around the World

Across the Street, Around the World - the winter season of arts events and activities in the Royal Borough runs from September to December 2009.

Building on the success of the last two years, this year’s programme is the most extensive yet and includes over 60 events at 30 venues across the borough – and most events are free.

Events include:

  • ‘Taste the World’ food stand focusing on North African and Chinese food
  • walking tours across the borough
  • a Great British Citizenship pub quiz
  • Samba
  • steel pan and Islamic visual arts workshops
  • ‘50 years of Carnival’ exhibition and talks
  • a debate on arts and cultural diversity
  • a Halloween Fair after dark in Holland Park
  • a new music collaboration: ‘From Palestine to Portugal’.

We warmly invite you to take part in this inspiring arts programme and discover more about the varied histories and cultures that have contributed to the vibrancy of Kensington and Chelsea.
