The Royal Borough’s Library Service has been moving ahead with
its programme for transforming its libraries.
We are now starting some refurbishment work to create a more
open and uncluttered look and make the best use of the space we
have available. We will be creating separate areas for young people
at Chelsea and Brompton, opening up backroom space for public use
and improving our signage and guiding. Part of this work will
include the installation of self service and its related
technology, there will be further information on how this works at
a later date
We will do all that we can to keep any disruption to a minimum
but for Health and Safety reasons we can only offer a restricted
service while building work is taking place
We will be offering a restricted service at Chelsea Library from
January 4 until the beginning of February and at Brompton Library
throughout February and March. At Chelsea, the Reference Library and
Exchange Group will be open and there will be a small lending
collection for adults and children. Brompton Library will also run
a restricted lending service. We will keep you informed of progress
and notify you of any changes. If you have any comments please
contact us on library.refurbishment@rbkc.gov.uk
