Chatterbooks are reading groups for children. Our aim is to inspire you to read and develop confidence in expressing your opinions as well as talk about books. The patron of the Chatterbooks scheme is writer Jacqueline Wilson.

Chatterbooks are open to library members aged 8 to 12 years old and they meet once a month, on either Wednesdays or Saturdays.

What happens at a Chatterbooks Group?

  • you will get a bag, diary, bookmark and stickers
  • you can discuss all sorts of books
  • there are quizzes, competitions and fun things to do
  • you will get a magazine four times a year
