What is Chatterbooks?

Chatterbooks are reading groups for children. Our aim is to inspire you to read and develop confidence in expressing your opinions as well as talk about books! The patron of the Chatterbooks scheme is writer Jacqueline Wilson.

Who can join?

Chatterbooks are open to library members aged 8 to 12 years old.

How often do they meet?

We meet once a month. Check out our reading group page to find out when future meetings will be.

What happens at a Chatterbooks Group?

  • You will get a bag, diary, bookmark stickers and other things
  • You can discuss all sorts of books
  • There are quizzes, competitions and fun things to do
  • You get a magazine four times a year
  • Sometimes there is a visit from an author
  • At Brompton Library the group uses the Internet to find out more about books and authors.
