Borrowing items and loan periods

How many items can I borrow?

With a library card, adults can borrow up to a maximum of 25 items, while children can borrow a maximum of 16 items. This can include a combination of the following:

Adults

  • 15 books/scores for three weeks
  • eight audio items for three weeks
  • two short language course for six weeks
  • two long language course for three months
  • three videos/DVDs for one week/three days
  • two CD-ROMs for one week
  • one toy for four weeks

Children

  • 12 books for three weeks
  • four audio items for three weeks
  • two language course for six weeks
  • three videos for three days or three DVDs for three days

How much does it cost?

Borrowing books is free. There is a charge for borrowing CDs, CD-ROMs, cassettes, DVDs, videos and language courses, but you may be free from some charges or entitled to concessions. Please visit our Library fines and charges page for more information.
