Joining the library is simple. You will need to fill in the membership form and provide one form of identification.
Examples of identification that we accept are:
If you work or study full-time in the Royal Borough but live in a different borough you will need to have your application endorsed by your college or employer.
If you live outside the Royal Borough you can still join our libraries.
Concessions are reserved for those that live, work or study in the Royal Borough. However if you join as an out of borough member you will still be able to enjoy a wide range of our services.
If you are unsure about what documents to bring ask one of our members of staff or call us on 020 7361 3010 (your call may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes).
Please note: All applications for membership of children and young people under 18 require the signature of a parent or guardian.
Please visit our Borrowing items and loan periods page for information about what you can borrow and how long for.
It costs nothing to join and borrowing books is free. There is a charge for borrowing CDs, CD-ROMs, cassettes, DVDs, videos and language courses, but you may be free from some charges or entitled to concessions.
To find out more, please visit our Fines and charges page.
If you want to know if you are entitled to any concessions please ask a member of library staff or email us at information.services@rbkc.gov.uk.
