Relocation of the High Street Kensington Crown Post Office
On 13 January 2011 the Royal Borough hosted a public meeting
with representatives of the Post Office and the Royal Mail to
discuss the relocation of the Kensington High Street Crown Post
Office. The meeting, chaired by Councillor Joanna Gardner,
attracted 60 residents providing them with the opportunity to
express their views on the relocation and a range of other postal
service issues.
The consultation related to the then planned closure of the
Crown Post Office based at 257 Kensington High Street and
relocation to 208-212 Kensington High Street.
The existing site closed for business at lunchtime on Saturday
19 March 2011 and open for business in the new premises at 9am on
Monday 21 March 2011.
A full copy of the minutes of that meeting
can be downloaded here.
The Public Realm Scrutiny Committee will continue to monitor the
obligations made by the Post Office and the Royal Mail at the
public meeting and raise questions about service standards, when
appropriate.
