Kensington Town Hall
Last updated 11 March 2011
When HRH Princess Anne opened Kensington Town Hall in 1977,
it was one of the most forward thinking office spaces in
London.
The Sir Basil Spence-designed building is now 33
years old and the mechanical and electrical services that
essentially heat and air condition the building are at the end of
their expected useful economic life and it’s time to replace
them.
Undertaking these works will also enable us to:
- reduce Council property costs by £2.5m
p.a
- enable 50 per cent more staff to be
located in the building
- reduce COs emissions by 11 per
cent
- allow five existing Council buildings to be
vacated
Between 2011 and 2014 we will be undertaking these essential
works.
