Meet our new Street Enforcement Team

Published: Wednesday 6 March 2024

A new Street Enforcement Team is getting to work this new year to tackle environmental crimes and anti-social behaviour. Working right across the borough 26 officers will be enforcing to make our streets safer and cleaner.

The team replaces what was previously our separate community warden service and waste enforcement teams to form one joined up group of officers who have the skills and powers to enforce against a wider variety of issues, so we can more effectively tackle anti-social behaviour and environmental crime.

Cllr Cem Kemahli, lead member for planning and public realm, said:

“We know safe, clean streets are important to residents right across the borough. With crime and anti-social behaviour on the rise right across London, we are not waiting for things to get worse before we act. This new team will bring together officers with the skills and powers to enforce against more issues at once, meaning a better and more efficient enforcement service for our borough.”
