Main roles of the Councils during Carnival

The main roles of the councils are to:

see that the event is organised as safely as reasonably possible, especially with respect to street trading and sound systems
provide public toilets
remove rubbish from the main Carnival area overnight on Sunday and Monday and to clean the entire area at the end of the event
make arrangements to have private basement or garden areas cleansed as required.
