Travelling by Tube Stations in the Carnival area

For safety reasons some stations may close temporarily if they become overcrowded.

It may be worthwhile waiting until the station reopens rather than finding an alternative station.

  • Holland Park – on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday the station will be ‘exit only’ from 11am to 7pm.
  • Ladbroke Grove – closed on Sunday and Monday.
  • Latimer Road – will close at 11.30pm on Sunday and Monday.
  • Notting Hill Gate – will be exit only between 12noon and 7pm on Sunday and 12.30 to 6.30pm on Monday. There will be no interchange between the Central and Circle/District lines. The Circle and District lines will not stop at this station from 11am to 7pm.
  • Royal Oak – will be exit only between 11am and 6pm on Sunday and Monday. After 6pm the station will close and Hammersmith and City line trains will not stop at this station.
  • Westbourne Park – will be exit only between 11am and 6pm on Sunday and Monday. The station will close at 11.30pm.
  • Bayswater – on Monday it may be advisable to use this station as Circle/District line trains will not stop at Notting Hill Gate.
  • Paddington (Hammersmith and City line) – on Sunday and Monday it may be advisable to use this station instead of Notting Hill Gate or Royal Oak as both these stations will have diversions.
  • High Street Kensington (Circle and District lines), Kensal Green and Queen’s Park (Bakerloo line) will be open as normal.

Travelling by London Overground

Stations near to the Carnival are Queen’s Park, Kensal Rise and Kensal Green. Services between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction will be replaced by buses on Sunday.

Bus information

London Buses will operate additional buses to serve the Carnival. Buses will not enter the Carnival area from the first bus on Sunday morning and all day Bank Holiday Monday until about 3am on Tuesday morning.

To the south of the Carnival area buses will start from Notting Hill Gate. To the north of the Carnival area buses will start from the Prince of Wales in Harrow Road. Night buses will also be affected. Bus stops within or adjacent to the area will carry displays about diversions or disruptions.

Full details of bus route changes are in the special transport leaflet available from London Underground stations or visit www.tfl.gov.uk
