Public art
There is a long tradition of public art in the
Royal Borough, with possibly the earliest example being the 1682
statue of Charles II by Grinling Gibbons outside the Royal
Hospital.
Interest in the provision of public art
continues today and the Council has reinforced its commitment by
either holding exhibitions or assisting and encouraging other
groups to do so over the past few years.
