Validation Requirements - Local List 2011

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea have produced a comprehensive list of the possible requirements we may have in order to process a planning application. Some of the requirements are national ones defined by Statutory Instruments and some of them are requirements the Royal Borough may have in order to deem your application valid and determine your application.

Each requirement is laid out within a table providing you with a brief summary of what information is required, which applications require this information, the policy driver behind the requirement and where to look for further information. Each requirement is then explained in more detail within the accompanying Appendix – Validation Requirements 2011 – Explanatory Guidance.

The list has been updated in accordance with government requirements. The new list has been prepared in accordance with the adopted Core Strategy and to take into consideration the requirements of Supplementary Planning Documents that have been adopted since the previous local list was prepared.

These documents were the subject of public consultation during November and December 2010. We received a number of responses to the consultation and the comments received were taken into consideration prior to publicising the final version of the local validation list. The requirements contained within the Local Validation List 2011 will become effective for all applications submitted on or after Tuesday 4 January 2011. If your application was submitted before Tuesday 4 January 2011 but remains invalid beyond this date, you will be required to comply with the new validation list.

If you would like a paper copy of the local validation list 2011 and the explanatory guidance, please email planning@rbkc.gov.uk or telephone PlanningLine on 020 7361 3012

The information within the local validation list has been prepared having regard to Communities and Local Government ‘Guidance on information requirements and validation’ and ‘Development Management Policy Annex: Information requirements and validation for planning applications’ both of March 2010.

To assist applicants in understanding our requirements, we have prepared a general guidance note that should be read in conjunction with the local validation list. In addition, we are preparing detailed webpages that provide applicants with specific information for particular types of development. This information can be accessed from the links below.
