Jubilee street party applications

03 May 2012

If you're wondering how to organise a street party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee your job could be made a little easier with a visit to the Council's website where you can access a streamlined application form.

But remember, you do need to make sure we have your application by Monday 14 May.

Apply online, and find out everything you need to know about this much-loved British tradition, by visiting www.rbkc.gov.uk/streetparty emailing StreetParties@rbkc.gov.uk or calling Special Events Officer Tara Hobson on 020 7341 5119.

If you're unsure if the event you are planning qualifies as a street party, if you live on a major road or you just want to plan a bigger event please get in touch too.

Cllr Nick Paget-Brown, Deputy Leader of the Council, said: "Street parties are a proud British tradition and over the years residents have organised them to celebrate royal events like the Queen's coronation in 1952, the Silver Jubilee, the recent Royal wedding and now the Diamond Jubilee. We want everyone to enjoy their street parties and our website contains practical tips on how to plan one so it should be a success. A special event like this, that brings neighbours and communities together to share food and music, is cause for a celebration and is to be encouraged."
