From conflicts to publishing - events in your library

25 May 2012

Whether it is finding out what it's like spending time in Afghanistan with British forces and the US Marines, or what it takes to get published, there's something of interest going on at Kensington Central Library in June.

On Thursday 7 June author and documentary maker Ben Anderson will talk about his latest book, No Worse Enemy, which covers his time spent with the military in Afghanistan.

As well as presenting clips from his films, Ben will discuss the past, present and future in regards to the conflict in Afghanistan. Has the government been telling us the truth? What will happen once UK and US forces pull out of the country? There will be opportunities to ask questions and join in the debate.
The session will run from 6.30pm to 8pm.

On Tuesday 19 June you can find out from Juliet Pickering, a literary agent with A P Watt, the oldest literary agency in the world, how the publishing process works and what the current publishing trends in the UK are. Juliet will also talk about the role of a literary agent: why an agent is necessary and how to go about getting one yourself. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session.

The talk starts at 6.30pm
